The park has excellent picnic areas by the lakes and a campground with RV hookups and tent sites, making it perfect for a family outing. Keep your eyes peeled for deer and enjoy excellent birdwatching, especially in spring and fall. And if you can, visit in autumn to see the vibrant fall colors. Devil's Den State Park

Devil's Den State Park, covering 2,500 acres near West Fork, is a paradise for adventurers. With its rugged landscapes, stunning rock formations, and winding streams, there’s so much to explore. The park has a great network of trails, and you definitely can’t miss the Devil’s Den Trail. It’s a favorite! This moderate loop takes you past unique geological features, including crevices and caves, with the iconic Devil's Den Cave being a real highlight. Lake Devil is perfect if you enjoy fishing, with plenty of bass and bream waiting to be caught. The park also has lovely picnic areas and shaded spots for an ideal outdoor meal. Early spring brings a gorgeous display of wildflowers along the trails, while late fall offers breathtaking autumn colors. Mount Magazine State Park

Just a short drive from Paris, Arkansas, Mount Magazine State Park is the highest point in the state, reaching an impressive 2,734 feet! With 2,234 acres of beautiful wilderness, this park offers some of the most stunning views in Arkansas. Mount Magazine is famous for hang-gliding and rock climbing. Hikers can check out the Signal Hill Trail, a moderate trek to the summit. For those who love to fish, Cove Lake is an excellent spot for catching bass, catfish, and sunfish. Plus, there are fantastic campsites with views that go on for miles!

The Visitor Center is a great place to start or wrap up your visit. It contains exhibits about local plants and animals and Mount Magazine's unique geological history. Spring is particularly magical with all the wildflowers, and summer is perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities. Lake Ouachita State Park

Lake Ouachita State Park is near Hot Springs and covers over 360 acres. It’s a paradise for water lovers with its crystal-clear waters and a massive 40,000-acre lake to explore. If you’re into fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, or catfish, or you want to rent a boat or kayak from the marina to check out the hidden coves, there’s plenty to do. There are also some excellent hiking trails, and the Caddo Bend Trail is a must-try. It’s a moderate four-mile loop that offers stunning views of the lake. Plus, if you’re considering camping, you’ve got many options, from RV and tent sites to cozy cabins.

One cool thing about Lake Ouachita is its quartz crystals. Don’t forget to search the shorelines for these little treasures, especially after it rains! Summer is perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating, while fall is a lovely time for hiking and birdwatching with all the beautiful foliage around. And if you want a unique local experience, swing by Hot Springs for a relaxing mineral bath at one of the historic bathhouses.

Nestled in Murfreesboro, Crater of Diamonds State Park is a true gem, spanning 911 acres. It’s one of the few places to dig for diamonds and you get to keep what you find. With all the tools you need, you can search for diamonds, quartz, and other gems in the park’s massive 37.5-acre field.

But gem hunting isn’t all the park has to offer. There are great camping spots for both RVs and tents to soak in the experience. After a day of exploring, kick back at one of the picnic areas or cool off at the seasonal water park in the summer. The spring and fall seasons are also perfect for digging and discovering all the park’s natural wonders.
